I am a painter and printmaker. I am originally from Bridgend, South Wales and now live in Warwickshire. My background is one of working in mental health. I am largely self taught, although I studied art for a teaching degree.
My painting medium is oils, and although I enjoy painting many subjects I specialise in still life. I look for the beauty in ordinary things and try to make them extraordinary. I am inspired by the play of light and colour on objects. Within my work a sense of calm and peacefulness is important to me and I try to express this in my work.
Copper plate etchings are made in small hand printed editions. They are inspired by my drawings and sketches of nature, my environment, and objects around me.
